"I feel very lucky that in this digital age I'm able to connect with my customers through bespoke artwork. Offering individuals a traditional and creative alternative to modern living that they love, is such a special feeling that I'm very much enjoying. Giving back to the local community and to charities that we all care about is something I'm able to and will continue to do."
Kate Howard
BIO
Kate Howard is an independent artist from the South coast specialising in dog portraits. Spending most of her time creating bespoke artwork, Kate often works on framed pencil drawings and quirky ink illustrations.
In 2018 Kate graduated with a First Class degree in Illustration. The course allowed her to explore illustration and its purposes but in particular children's book illustration and educational games where she focused on wildlife and the outdoors. Previously, she spent time at Winchester school of art, focusing on printed textiles. Kate currently uses her illustrative nature to produce artwork for pet owners, homeowners or gifters who are looking for something personal and precious.
"The progression from an illustration student to a bespoke independent artist came naturally to me. It only felt right to offer a service which allows individuals to commission entirely unique pieces of artwork."

2018 - 2019
In February Kate was fortunate enough to independently produce a mural explaining the dry aged meat process in A.S Wallace Butchers, which is situated in the pretty village of East Witterings. The mural adds a touch of creativity to the family-run butchers which was established in 2005.
In 2018 Kate exhibited in London at Parallax art fair, Europe's largest indoor artist consumer fair. The piece was an acrylic painting on canvas of her own dog Hugo, highlighting her passion for pet portraits.
Not only does Kate produce bespoke pet portraits on canvas, but she also creates framed illustrations ranging from homes to self-portraits to wedding venues. The nature of these smaller pieces make them very popular gift ideas, so in 2018 Kate decided to start offering a gift wrapping service.
Kate also enjoys creating quirky illustrations which bring the location of her most loved, local gems to life. You will find Kates artwork situated around the South in the following locations:
